This briefing draws primarily on research and analysis concerning children in the asylum and immigration context conducted by researchers based at the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE), London School of Economics and Political Science and COMPAS, University of Oxford. The authors draw on their expertise and research on child poverty and inequality in the context of UK asylum and immigration policy from projects they led or were involved in, such as the Understanding Migrant Destitution project, the Lifeline for All report, the Social Cost Benefit Analysis of Lifting NRPF conditions report, research on children and parents’ experiences of Asylum Support, and other studies. The briefing also includes some new analysis of the Home Office Migrant Journey and other administrative data.
