Overview
This project will examine the evidence base on discriminatory recruitment practices in the UK on the basis of national origin. It will review what forms of discrimination existing studies have so far identified, how and when discrimination occurs, and the likely underlying drivers of employer preferences and practices. In doing so, it will facilitate the European Human Rights Commission’s analysis on policy development related to discriminatory practices on the basis of nationality or origin, as well as its efforts to improve enforcement and awareness of existing rules. It will also provide directions for further data collection and future empirical research.
