Overview

Time: 4pm - 530pm (GMT)

The first Migration and Mobility Network networking event of the 2020-2021 academic year focuses on Migration and Museums, with participants from the Migration Museum, COMPAS, Pitt Rivers Museum and Multaka Oxford (tbc). During this event, scholars and practitioners will reflect on the role of museums in representing migrants, shaping discourses surrounding migrants, and critically engaging the public with issues of mobility and migration.

Speakers will share their work and reflections through 5 minute presentations, which will be followed by discussion.

Beyond networking, the objective of this session is to stimulate a rich and interdisciplinary discussion on the intersection of migration and museums. As such, everyone working on migration and mobility academia or beyond is invited to join as the diversity of voices and perspectives will benefit the conversation. You will be contacted within 48 hours of the event with the Zoom link for this event.

Register for this event via Eventbrite. If you prefer not to use Eventbrite for responding to this invitation, you may respond directly to migration-mobility@torch.ox.ac.uk.

Registration is free and all are welcome.
