Elisa is a DPhil candidate in Migration Studies, exploring the links between migration, development, and health. Her research examines how migrants transfer ideas and information related to health and how this may impact health-related behaviour and outcomes across their networks, as well as global health.
Elisa has worked in migration policy and research for eight years, most recently for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) at its Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) in Berlin. There she managed various research and capacity development initiatives related to migration and development, and delivered trainings on migration data to governments around the world. Elisa has worked and/or consulted for the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), the World Bank, the Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM), an NGO in the Philippines, and other places. Elisa holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy & Politics from the University of Edinburgh.
