Informed public debate and evidence-based policy-making on immigration requires clarity and transparency about what we know and don’t know about migration and its impacts. The Migration Observatory (www.migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk), a new project of COMPAS, recently published a report on the ten most important problems in the evidence base on immigration and migrants in the UK (www.migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/top-ten/overview).
This breakfast briefing will present the key findings and discuss the implications for public debate and policy-making.
Speakers: The Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford team
Discussants: Chris Kershaw, Home Office and Ben Humberstone, Office for National Statistics
