Submit your pitch using the MS Form below to apply for a slot on Oxford’s leading podcast on migration. Deadline: 13 February 2026.

Is there a current global conversation about migration where your work could add nuance and perspective? Have you recently published research or led an exciting project that can help reshape understandings? Or can you offer a unique take on an academic or cultural publication centered on migration - from research papers and books to films, TV series, or pop culture moments?

If so, we would love to hear your pitch for a slot on the Migration Oxford Podcast.

As Oxford’s leading podcast on migration, the Migration Oxford Podcast offers a space for in-depth discussions about complex migration questions, issues and research. It is designed to unpick existing debates, to highlight under-represented areas of discussion, and to explore new and innovative thinking about migration and mobility.

Established in 2022 by the University’s Migration Oxford network, the podcast reaches a broad global audience, including academics, policymakers, and the public. Episodes are shared via Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and the University of Oxford’s Podcast channel.

For 2026, we are accepting pitches that align with the following three categories and meet the criteria outlined below:

Category 1 – Scheduled topics
We are looking for experts to share research insight on the following themes:

  • The 1951 Refugee Convention: 75 years on
  • The European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR)
  • Misinformation and migration
  • The evolution of language about migration

Category 2 – Publication focused
We are looking for experts to discuss their recent research or to apply research insights to an academic publication or pop-cultural moment, such as a book or film. Please think creatively and consider how your research perspective speaks to global themes and will engage broader audiences (four episodes)

Category 3 – Open pitches
Do you have an idea for an episode not captured above that you think would be a great fit for the podcast? We welcome your ideas. (Four episodes)

Further criteria:

  • Each episode should feature a maximum of two researchers.
  • At least one speaker must be an Oxford researcher or be working with the University of Oxford. We also welcome participants with lived experience.
  • Topics must be accessible to a non-specialist, global audience.

The general format will be an introduction by the co-hosts (Jacqueline Broadhead, Director of the Global Exchange on Migration and Diversity, and Rob McNeil, Deputy-Director of The Migration Observatory) followed by a host-led interview with all speakers. Edited episodes will typically run for 25–30 minutes.

Submit your pitch using this MS Teams form and send any questions to: communications@compas.ox.ac.uk

Deadline: 13 February 2026.  Decisions on pitched episodes will be communicated in March 2026, and episode recordings in this series will be scheduled thereafter.
