Yong Han is a DPhil Candidate in Anthropology. Her research interests include labour migration, infrastructure, bureaucracy, and capitalism with a geographical focus on Southeast and East Asia. Currently she is looking at how attempts to govern the construction industry in Singapore have produced certain slippages, such as in commodifying migrant labour as a currency of exchange, or in transforming machine-worker relations via innovations like prefabrication technologies.

She has a MA in Southeast Asian Studies from the National University of Singapore and a BA in Anthropology and East Asian Studies from Harvard University.
