Yali Chen is Ph.D. candidate and teaching assistant at the Institute for Gender studies in the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She holds two master degrees, one in Political Science at the University of Geneva (CH) and another in International and European Laws of Fundamental Rights at the University of Nantes (FR). Her Ph.D. research aims at analyzing the construction and reconstruction of Chinese female migrants’ gender identities in Switzerland at the local and transnational level within the migration process by using the theory of “subjectivation”. Her research areas include sociology of gender and migration, theory of subject on globalization, transnationalism, Diasporas online and immigration policy.
