Mikal Mast is project manager on the PEAK Urban programme, funded by UKRI’s Global Research Challenges Fund (GRCF). Mikal is responsible for the smooth and timely running of the PEAK Urban programme, including planning, budget oversight, partner communications, reporting and monitoring and evaluation.
Previously she was project manager and communications officer on the Horizon 2020 project Role of European Mobility and its Impacts in Narratives, Debates and EU Reforms (REMINDER) and Communications Officer for COMPAS and the Migration Observatory.
Before joining COMPAS, Mikal worked at the University of Glasgow as office administrator for the Vice Principal (Biomedical and Life Sciences) and web administrator for the Glasgow Centre for International Development. Previously she was proposal coordinator and publications manager at CARANA Corporation, an international development consulting firm based in Northern Virginia. Prior to this she spent three years as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching English in Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan.
She has a BA in French and History from Calvin College and an MA in Chinese Studies from the University of Arizona.
Mikal is also the Oxford UCU Casework Coordinator and Heath & Safety Rep for the School of Anthropology.
