Professor Shao works at Beijing Normal University; prior to this, she worked at The China Center for Urban Development of National Development and Reform Commission, engaged in policy and planning research. The research areas include regional and urban economic problems, regional and urban planning, and ecological economy.
She has published a monograph, The Evolution Mechanism of Urban Industrial Spatial Structure (2011); more than 20 papers in core journals, including The Matching Feature of the Distribution of Public Education Resources and Population in Urban: Taking Beijing as an Example (Journal of Macro-quality Research, 06/2016), “Research on Enterprise’s Location Chosen from Perspective of Linkage Cost” (East China Economic Management, 05/2012), “Deep Mechanism of Aggregation and Spreading of Production in Metropolis” (East China Economic Management, 12/2011), “ Urban Industrial Development and Layout in Beijing” (Social Science of Beijing, 10/2011), “Discussion on the Evolvement of Mechanism of Urban Industrial Space Structure from Labor Division” (Urban Problems, 08/2011) and “Agglomeration Characteristics of Producer Services in Beijing”(Geography Journal, 2008/12), and others.
She has presided over and participated in more than 30 research projects, and she is currently presiding over a General Project of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education – “Industrial development of mega-cities and formation of multi-center spatial structure” (2016-2019).
