Hannah Pool is a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Germany. In her doctoral dissertation, she conducted a multi-sited ethnography on undocumented migration trajectories in Iran, Turkey, Greece, Bosnia, and Germany.
At COMPAS, Hannah will focus on her Charlemagne Prize Academy Fellowship research project, Solidarity through mobility, Solidarity beyond mobility? Therein, she examines the perceptions of borders and solidarity during times of immobility among highly mobile groups in Europe.
By using a participatory approach to qualitative interviews in the virtual space, she aims to shape the research process according to the current situation of halt.
She has been a visiting scholar at Columbia University, USA, the WZB, Germany, and Tehran University, Iran.
