Emily is Head of Learning and Partnerships at the Migration Museum. She has grown the museum’s education programme from scratch, reaching thousands of pupils and university students and hundreds of teachers through teacher training since she joined in 2013. Her partnership work is mainly focused on the Network of Migration and Museums, which she coordinates across the UK. Following an anthropology undergraduate degree, Emily trained as a citizenship teacher with TeachFirst and then moved on to coordinate an international giving programme in schools. She then worked at Seeds of Peace summer camps – which bring teenagers from the Middle East and South Asia together in America – and subsequently took an MA in Conflict Resolution in the Peace Studies division at Bradford University.
In 2020, Emily joined the Global Exchange on Migration and Diversity as a Knowledge Exchange Fellow working to link migration research and researchers with museum practitioners and other stakeholders.
