Biography

Brendan currently works at the Office for National Statistics (ONS). He has worked in demography for over 20 years, formally in public health and, later, in international migration. He is a member of the UK Government Statistical Service (GSS).
Before that, he worked at Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS Digital and the Public Health Wales Observatory. He has various academic qualifications, including an MSc in Public Health and a PGCert in Public Policy Analysis. Additionally, he’s worked in several homelessness charities, researching and developing treatment programmes for substance abusers.
He has been a member of various all-party parliamentary groups at the House of Commons, such as the All-Party Parliamentary Drugs Misuse Group. He has been interviewed on TV (the Politics Show), local news, and radio. He has also taught undergraduates as a visiting lecturer at various universities, such as Bath University, and worked as a workshop facilitator.
