Ana is a DPhil student in Migration Studies, researching the long-term impacts of immigration on the educational outcomes of natives. For her doctoral project, she focuses on immigration in the United States, using mixed methods to determine whether there are significant differences in the long-term educational attainment of natives who completed their early education in environments with high immigrant concentrations, and those who did not.
Before Oxford, she worked with IOM, the UN migration agency, evaluating the living conditions and needs of migrants on the US-Mexico border. Ana has also completed an MSc in Migration Studies at the University of Oxford, during which she explored the aspiration and expectation-building processes of Central American immigrants en-route to the U.S.
