Hayley Lofink successfully completed her DPhil in Anthropology (Medical/Nutritional) in 2010.
Her research examines the relationship between migration and obesity. Hayley's doctoral project explores how physical, economic, cultural and political contexts shape dietary practices, physical activity patterns, and body shape perceptions among British Bangladeshi adolescents (aged 11-14 years old) in Tower Hamlets, East London. Her DPhil was funded by the Thouron Scholarship and the Wenner-Gren Dissertation Fieldwork Grant.
Hayley has undergraduate and Master's degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research at Penn investigated the socio-cultural and political-economic production of obesity among African American children in West Philadelphia and among children of Mexican migrant workers in New Jersey.
