His thesis focused on the diaspora engagement policies of migrant sending states, and included a large cross-country comparison based around a new comparative framework, as well as in-depth case studies of New Zealand and Ireland.
Alan Gamlen is an ESRC Post Doctoral Fellow based at the International Migration Institute and working on migration, diasporas and transnationalism, with a specific focus on Asia-Pacific migration and on sending contexts more broadly.
