Isabel Shutes is a Research Associate at COMPAS and a Lecturer in Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research interests focus on the interconnections of migration and welfare regimes, particularly in relation to care and welfare-to-work policies, and on inequalities of citizenship and immigration status, race/ethnicity and gender. Her current research focuses on the marketisation of care for older people and the employment of migrant care workers in this context. Previous research has focused on welfare-to-work policies and employment service provision for refugees, long-term unemployed groups and low-paid workers.
