Bridget Anderson speaks on human trafficking

Today, 28 May, Bridget Anderson will speak at an event hosted by the OSCE and the Home office on the subject of trafficking in human beings.

The event is is jointly hosted by the Home Office and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). It aims to follow up on the report by the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings. 

Dr Bridget Anderson, COMPAS Deputy Director and Senior Research Fellow, will speak as an expert on 3 different recommendations: 

1) enhancing the role of the Gangmasters Licensing Authority
2) the prevention of trafficking for the purpose of domestic servitude 
3) the human rights impact of anti-trafficking policy and legislation 

Participants at the event include Damian Green (Minister of State for Immigration), Suzanne Barnes (Assistant Director - Migration Policy, Home Office), David Dilnutt (Head of UK Human Trafficking Centre), and Darryl Dixon (Director of Strategy, Gangmasters Licensing Authority).
