GCIM Migration Futures Workshop
A workshop was held on 10th December 2004 in Oxford and covnened by: Global Commission on International Migration (GCIM), Centre for Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS), Refugee Studies Centre (RSC), and Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation (CSGR)
The objective of this workshop was to consider the future of international migration, in terms of the facts, forces and variables that will affect immigration in the next fifty years. The workshop’s three themes were:
- what will be the driving forces of international migration?
- what impacts will new mobilities and diversities have on society? and
- what will be the shape of politics, policy and governance in respect to international migration?
