This report provides an overview of the regulatory framework for and positions of migrant health professionals in the UK within the context of the (English) health system, information about the healthcare workforce as a whole and the general regulatory framework around medical practitioners, nurses, midwives and other health professionals. It pays attention to the changing policy structure surrounding the recruitment and treatment of health professionals from overseas working in the UK, and particularly to differences between the regulatory frameworks and situations of EEA migrants and those of migrants from outside the EEA.
