Informal Remittance Systems in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Countries: Democratic Republic of Congo (Congo-DRC) and Republic of Congo (Congo) Country Study Rémy Bazenguissa-Ganga


Many types of operators compete to deliver informal remittances between France and the two Congos: the Democratic Republic of Congo (Congo-DRC) and the Republic of Congo (Congo). Results drawn from the analysis of the relationship between these three countries can be applied to activity between other European and ACP countries. This report shows that, for the Congolese, informal remittances take place in the historical context resulting from the armed political violence of the 1990s.
